OUR ELDERS

Parker obeyed the gospel at about 12 years of age and was baptized. He married his first wife and they had five children. His family moved to Tipton, Oklahoma in 1970 to serve as house parents for the boys home, where they served for 10 years.
While serving there, Parker attended preacher school in Elk City. He worked for 19 years in the Tipton Public Schools while continuing to preach all over Southwest Oklahoma as needed. He lost his wife to cancer in 1993 and retired in 1995.
Parker married Yvonne in 1996. He preached for a year in Leedy, Oklahoma before moving to Paul’s Valley where he served as an elder for three years. After moving to Sherman, Texas, Parker served as an elder for five years. His five boys are all faithful to the Lord and he thanks God for all that He has done!

Ozie Monroe, Jr.
David Fleming
David has been married to his wife Pat for over 40 years and they have three daughters and ten grandchildren. All three of his daughters are faithful members of the Church. He was raised Nazarene and his father was a song leader at every church they attended as he grew up. David became a member of the Church of Christ over 38 years ago and has followed in his father’s footsteps as a song leader. His love of song leading led him to the Song Leading School in Abilene for six straight summers, and he has directed the chorus for Leadership Training for Christ more years than he can count. David served as a deacon at two prior congregations and now proudly serves as an elder.

Ozie and Mary have been married for over 36 years and have five adult children and numerous grandchildren.
He and his wife placed membership at Bastrop Church of Christ in 1993, where Ozie taught the youth, led singing, and served as a deacon for seven years. In 2015, Ozie and Mary helped found Heart of Texas Church of Christ, where Ozie first served as a trustee, and now as an elder. He also remains involved with the youth group.
Ozie owns O+L Construction and loves to serve his brothers and sisters in Christ. He and Mary have worked hard to raise their family in Christ and hope their family can pass God’s love to all the world.
